The centre of winchester's military history
Winchester's Military Museums provide an excellent family day out. Five of our museums can be found at Peninsula Barracks, a Victorian complex that is the historic home of the Rifle regiments, and our sixth Museum lies just outside the City at Worthy Down.

Each museum offers a unique experience and has its own story to tell. There are fantastic collections of medals, paintings and military objects on display across the whole site, making a trip to Winchester’s Military Museums worth a visit. Three of the museums – HorsePower, The Royal Green Jackets and Gurkha museums – charge for admission. The other three are free to enter. Opening times and admissions prices are available here.
There is a joint ticket available for all the museums for £16 per person. The ticket can be purchased from HorsePower, The Royal Green Jackets and Gurkha museums lasting until the end of the year, so if you don’t get time to visit all the museums, you can always return later!
