The centre of winchester's military history
Winchester's Military Quarter is a grouping of six regimental museums situated within yards of each other on a historic site, close to the city centre of Winchester. The site is the old Peninsular Barracks, a Victorian complex that is the historic home of the Rifle regiments, and is adjacent to the Great Hall.

Each museum offers a unique experience and has its own story to tell. There are fantastic collections of medals, paintings and military objects on display across the whole site, making a trip to Winchester’s Military Museums worth a visit. Three of the museums – HorsePower, The Royal Green Jackets and Gurkha museums – charge for admission. The other three are free entry. Opening times and admissions price are available here.
There is a joint ticket available for all the museums for £11 per person. The ticket can be purchased from HorsePower, The Royal Green Jackets and Gurkha museums lasting until the end of the year, so if you don’t get time to visit all the museums, you can always return later!
