2025 marks 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen. Her novels all have characters that served in the military- where did she get her inspiration? Have a read through our new resource Jane Austen and the British Army to understand the context of the military in Georgian life, and its links to Jane Austen.

Winchester at War

2024 and 2025 have marked important anniversaries for the Second World War; the 80th anniversaries of D-Day, VE Day, and VJ Day. This resource gives some detail on what life was like in Winchester during the War.
